Intramuscular therapy with Colecalciferol Injection is used in patients with gastrointestinal, liver or biliary disease associated with malabsorption of vitamin D, which can result in low levels of phosphate in the blood, weak bones and teeth ‘Rickets’, and other problems with how bones are formed.
Colecalciferol is a form of vitamin D and belongs to a group of medicines called vitamin D and analogues. Colecalciferol increases levels of calcium and phosphate in the blood by increasing their absorption from the gut.
